It's time for you to face the truth that the new toilet pastime is no longer books or magazines anymore, at least the paper ones, it's now phone and/or tablet time. I don't have to tell you that your tablet, worth hundreds of dollars, is different from your copy of Miniature Donkey Talk magazine. So don't treat them the same.

Give your valuable device the security it deserves with it's own pedestal. You never know when a case of 'back splash' is going to happen, and if that water is cold enough or you are not prepared you may drop it causing damage. While you may not tell a soul what really happened you'll know it was that ill-advised stop at the new Mexican place on the way home.

Strange Ad

Not too long ago I was on this very site making sure everything was up to snuff. During my inspection of the site I noticed the ad that was displaying at the top of the page. Normally that would be great news for the advertiser, but not today.

As you can see in the screenshot above there are no words in this ad at all. That may work if you have striking imagery that needs no words to convey it's message, but this appears to be a bunch of dudes hanging out around CNC machines making what may be car parts. Who would make such a thing?

I should also mention that this ad was not a video or a .gif. It was a static picture.

Since every word written on this site is pure awesome I find that many times the ads displayed for me are really interesting, but I can't click them. Google gets upset when you click your own ads and will not hesitate to knock your dick in the dirt for it. The usual remedy for that is reading what the ad says it's for and going to Google. I can't do that this time.

So in summary here is an ad that was displayed on AntiMachine.NET, my site, and I have no clue about what it is trying to sell me, tell me, or anything else. I would have clicked on it just to see what it was which in a weird way makes it really effective, but not for me.

Coke Syrup Races Are A Thing

If you are totally confused at the title of this post I can relate. It was about a year ago that I heard the term 'Coke syrup race' and could not understand how the words worked together, but in time I learned and wished these races happened closer to me.

All the races I've read up on have been inside big buildings with concrete floors and if you have driven on concrete you know it can be slick without warning. So how do you take a slick surface like that and make it race ready? From the name I assume you take the syrup for Coke that fountain machines use and put a layer of it on the floor.

Sometimes a movie comes out that is so huge that there is money to be thrown at any dumb ass idea. Don't believe me? Well, how do you explain the cover of the May 2012 issue of 'Muscle & Fitness'? I'm waiting. Thought so.

There are so many questions to ask. Who does this appeal to beyond M&F readers? Does M&F have that many readers to make this a wise use of money? Will the rest of the cast of the Avengers make similar appearances? Was there blackmail involved?

The list could go on forever, but I'm just going to sit back and Marvel (see what I did there) at this weird ass cover.

Chick-A-Dee Smoke Alarm

If you can't stand having the plastic hockey puck commonly referred to as a smoke alarm you now have a slightly more visually appealing choice of smoke detection -- a bird. This is no ordinary bird though.

The Chick-A-Dee is a nice looking smoke alarm that indeed looks like a bird and even makes a bird like noise at the "first sign of a threat" then kicks into a 85 decibel alarm when smoke is detected. The bird sits on a branch which serves as a ceiling mount. It really rides the line of weird and neat, but if it actually works it's all good.

Third Man Records Made A 3 RPM 12"

With Record Store Day fast approaching I have had vinyl on the brain which is way this caught my eye and thoroughly confused me. Here I thought everyone forgot it was 33 RPM (technically 33 and a third) and I was going nuts.

This in fact is a 3 RPM record made by Jack White's Third Man Records which contains all of the labels 'blue series singles' and can't be played properly on any turntable without help from your finger. The record was given out at a TMR party and to other connected people so good luck finding it.

Back in the day there was nothing bigger than the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The cartoons, movies, and toys were great and gave every kid out there an imagination boost. Now, that's going to be dashed on the rocks thanks to this creepy video.



How about Don's O face face at 2:13? It made you want to punch the puppeteer didn't it? Personally it made me cringe, but deep down I was fascinated at the behind the scenes look.

IV Drip Lamp Will Cure Your Darkness

There are a lot of strange lamps in the world because a lamp is such a simple concept. Does it light up? Yes. Well, it's a lamp of some sort! It's pretty amusing to see some of the bizarre, awesome, or complex lamps out there. I don't know which category this lamp falls into so I'll just put it in the 'WANT!' column.

This lamp is an IV drip style bag that you fill with water and comes with an LED light inside that can be powered by USB or an AC adapter. On the bag is a medical style cross with the phrase 'Fill Your Energy Up'.

Tokyo Had An In-N-Out Burger -- For A Day

You read that correctly. Tokyo, Japan had a In-N-Out Burger for a day, and then it was gone. It wasn't because they were run out of town or that they went under in a single day -- it was research. At least that's what they say (I'm kidding).

In-N-Out got an established Harajuku burger joint, Zip-Zap, to help them to do market research to see if In-N-Out is worth bringing to Japan. It appears they got a lot of buzz considering the local tweets of tasty burgers that you can see at Japan Probe.

It's kind of hard to believe that they could get a good amount of results from only one day, but that's not my gig. If it was I have great market research showing my kitchen is a great place for an In-N-Out Burger.
