Collective Cables Bring Style To Your Setup
When people talk about setting up a new PC or desk for their PC you'll often hear about 'cable management' which is just a sneaky code phrase for hiding all their cables. I get that making it look like your PC can run with out the need of cables looks cool and futuristic, because that is the future, but why not embrace cables now while we still have them.
Eastern Collective is on the right track in paying homage to cables with their line of woven cloth covered accessory cables. They offer micro USB, lighting, apple 30 pin, and AUX cables for items like cameras, iPods, and iPhones and so on. The cables come in a great range of bright colors and patterns. They also offer longer cables which are labeled as XXL.
While I love that these cables are available I can see they are shooting for the 'cable managed' crowd that want their device cables to look good because they are not so easy to 'mange' but I would love to see Eastern Collective veer off into HDMI, DVI, and VGA. You know, the cables people tend to 'manage'.
The cost ranges from about $13 to about $28 depending on the connection type and how long it is.
Check the cables out at the Eastern Collective shop!

360 Degree Fan
Soon the time of messing with fans will be upon us. You know when you have to take like five college courses to figure out where to place a fan so it'll blow on you, but not too much. Or figure out how to bank the air off another wall to you. Maybe fans are just designed shitty.
Here's something new a 360 degree desktop fan. instead of just blowing in one direction it blows in all of them. It might not work like a normal fan, but I'm sure it'll work fine.
Although there is something about this fan that might not work for you. You see how it's retro styled and fancy looking? Well, that has made the price quite substantial.
You can get the Fanimation Fargo Desktop Fan from Amazon for $288.08.
Welp, time to study my fan physics.

Retro Styled Clock Radio And Phone
All these super future styled gadgets are great and all, but sometimes it's nice to go into the style archive and kick it old school one in awhile. No, I'm not talking 90s or even 80s -- I'm talking 50s. Look! This will do nicely.
This US Basic AM/FM clock radio and phone features an analogue clock and a phone with a faux rotary touch tone dialling all wrapped up in (what I'm assuming is) a faux Bakelite finish. A great package for a bedside table or desk.
You can get this unit from Amazon for $49.99.

72 Pins Fight Club NES Cart
Now before you go into a frenzy and think there is or was a Fight Club game for the NES I just want to say "Stop thinking that!". 72 Pins takes working NES carts and strips the original game label off the cart and puts a new custom label on in its place.
So what game do you get when you buy a cart? It's a surprise! That's a part of the fun. You get a piece of art that's also a random, but functioning, game. Two for the price of one.
The Fight Club cart is 'coming soon' so be sure to keep tabs on the 72 Pins Twitter for further updates.
The art for this cart was done by Chuck D. Gomez who has a Tumblr full of great art to check out and of course check out the rest of the 72 Pins catalog.

Keep Floppies Alive With The USB Floppy Disk Drive
I was thinking the other day about the video I posted of the homemade auto floppy loader and was wondering if there was an easy way to still use floppy discs, and then forgetting about it totally. Today the answer fell right into my lap.
Of course the answer is USB. Now the reasons you would need, or want, to use this are probably out of my grasp but it's nice that somebody is looking after the 'vintage' formats. Here are some quick stats on the drive:
