It's been a full year and some days since the tremendous Japanese earthquake on March 11, 2011 that triggered a massive tsunami that regions are still recovering from to this day. Canada just got a sobering reminder of the sheer destructive power of the tsunami in the form of a ship.
The ship was spotted by air about 120 miles off the coast of Canada after meandering across the Pacific Ocean without a soul on board. It has been confirmed by the owner that the squid fishing ship is indeed from Japan and disappeared after the tsunami.
Scientist are keeping track of the ocean currents to estimate when most of the debris will make it to the North American coast. Some say as early as October with some saying as late as 2014, but rest assured we'll remember March 11, 2011 again.
